Our Beginning : Making Childhoods simple and magical

Parenting doesn’t come with an instruction manual—it’s an art we discover each day. Like all parents, we wish for the best for our children: not just in material comforts, but in their emotional and spiritual growth too. Yet in today’s world of constant information, marketing noise, and overstimulation, it’s easy to feel lost or pressured into choices that don’t always serve the child.

We created Saha as a way to walk this path together, with parents who want to raise children consciously, and with communities who believe childhood deserves protection, presence, and joy.

In Hindi, Saha means “together.” That word is at the heart of everything we do. We believe the environments children grow up in - what they see, touch, and feel in their first seven years - shape their inner world. Science confirms this too: nurture deeply influences how nature unfolds. When we create thoughtful spaces for our children, we are helping shape their destiny.

How Saha Was Born

We are Debaleena Biswas and Nikhil Saraf, co-founders of Saha. Both of us once lived in the corporate world, until parenthood invited us to pause and re-examine the choices we were making for our child. We began to notice how childhood was quietly being reshaped by consumerism, speed, and overstimulation. We realized how easy it is for children to become passive participants in this rush when what they truly need is slowness, presence, and environments that nourish their senses.

This realization led us to step away from our jobs and dedicate ourselves to creating something different, something aligned with the natural needs of childhood and parenting with intention. And that’s how Saha was born.

What We Do

At Saha, we create more than toys and clothes, we create nurturing experiences that support both children and parents.

  • Open-ended wooden toys that invite imagination, free play, and connection.
  • Organic, breathable children’s clothing, thoughtfully designed for comfort, freedom of movement, and simplicity.
  • Parenting circles and support gatherings, where parents can connect, share, and grow together.

Each offering is crafted with care, rooted in the belief that less is more, and that true richness lies in presence, connection, and mindful design.

Our Vision

We believe that childhood doesn’t need more of easily available material things, it needs more intention. Childhoods are meant to be simple, filled with unconditional love, and surrounded by environments that support natural growth.

Through Saha, we want to bring back that simplicity. Together, as parents, educators, and communities, we can reclaim childhood, one mindful choice at a time.

Meet the Founders

DEBALEENA BISWAS

For me, motherhood was the turning point. It opened my eyes to how much children absorb from their surroundings and how often their true needs get overlooked in today’s fast-paced world. With Saha, I wanted to create a space that honors childhood as it truly is : simple, joyful, and whole. I am deeply passionate about early childhood and currently undergoing early educators' certification to understand children and their needs better. I am an avid reader of non-fiction and writing is my sacred space of 'being'.

Nikhil Saraf

My journey with Saha began when I chose to leave the corporate world to join Debaleena in building something meaningful. I believe children deserve environments that nurture, not overwhelm them, and I’m deeply committed to shaping Saha into a space where parents feel supported and children can simply be. I love music and also teach Guitar in my spare time.

Lastly, 'Saha' is built upon the three values of Education, Sustainability, and Community. These values act as anchors to everything that is done at 'Saha'.
